Days of Blunder Motorsports got its start under a different name — Group 11 Racing — and with a pretty simple idea: take a 2005 Mini Cooper, build it into a proper race car, and go run it in the 24 Hours of Lemons. No fancy shop, no unlimited budget, just a group of people who wanted to see if they could actually pull it off.

We hit the track for the first time on September 14, 2024, at Pacific Raceway, racing as the "Mini Koopa." Since then we've been chasing laps around some of the best road courses in the Northwest — Pacific Raceway, Ridge Motorsports Park, Thunderhill Raceway Park, and Sonoma Raceway — learning the car, learning the tracks, and learning a lot about ourselves along the way.

Lemons racing has a way of humbling you, and we've paid our dues. Two blown head gaskets, a dead transmission, and more trackside duct-tape-and-prayers fixes than we can count. But for every failure, there's been a night in the garage figuring out how to make it right — and coming back stronger (and, we like to think, a little smarter) each time.

The highlight so far came on August 31, 2025, when our GUTS theme and obstacle course earned us an Organizer's Choice award. It was a reminder of why we do this — not just to race, but to challenge ourselves, have fun while doing it, build something we're proud of, and share a few laughs, sweat, and occasional beverage with everyone else out there doing the same.
